I hired Meghan as more of a wedding day ‘coordinator’ to make sure all my plans ran smoothly since I looked after all the planning myself.  We agreed that she was going to look after getting the cake picked up, delivering the flowers to both the guys and girls location, putting the guys boutonnieres on them since, well, they are guys, making sure all candles were lit in the hall, and make sure everyone was where they were supposed to be, when they were supposed to be.  I believed that was all we needed done and that I didn’t have covered.  Boy was I WRONG!

It rained for 3 days straight before, during and after the wedding.  We had flooding everywhere in the Halifax area.  We decided to have an evening wedding and get all our professional pictures done before the ceremony.  We had to be on location by 3pm and Meghan had still not shown up at the hotel with our flowers- we were running about 5mins late when I received a call on my cell phone.  It was her friend calling to say that Meghan was in a car accident on Hwy 102 while she was travelling from the guys location to the girls location.  Her car hydroplaned and hit the concrete median.  The flowers were in her vehicle.  I froze.  Oh my god, this can’t be happening.  Was she ok?? Yes.  She was fine.  Not only was she ok but she proceeded to call her friend to meet her on the other side of the highway median to get the flowers to us.  In the pouring rain, Meghan scooped up the flowers, jumped the median and hopped into her friends car in order to get to me – in the process, telling the cops that she could not stay to fill out a report and that they would have to meet her at the hall if they wanted her statement – she had a wedding to pull off!!! Hahaha  She was amazing!

So she dropped the flowers off to me and then ran to the hall to set everything up for the ceremony.  There were so many little things that were overlooked such as who was going to look after the presents and money and transporting them – Meghan said “no worries, consider it done”.  Then there was “oh my god- there’s no one to clear the tables” – Meghan said “no worries, consider it done”.  We couldn’t find the cake cutter “Ahhh Meghan?!” and “no worries, consider it done”.  And those were just A FEW of the “oh my god- what do we do?” moments that happened on our big day/night.

During the planning process I was really skeptical about spending the money out for a planner/coordinator because I wasn’t sure if it was needed or not.  I was worried I was wasting money that I could have spent somewhere else.  And now, looking back, I would hire Meghan in an instant – and probably pay her twice the amount.  Like I said, she goes above and beyond for her clients – even doing things that she wasn’t supposed to be doing to begin with.  She is an amazing lady and a phenomenal multi-tasker.  She keeps her cool in the most dire of situations and always makes her clients feel that she has their back and that their event is the most important event at that time.  She definitely gives a bride that “warm/fuzzy feeling” that everything will work out perfectly and not to worry about anything.

Thanks again Meghan – you made our day even more incredible than I could have ever imagined.

Meghan is very professional and meticulously organized. She is always one step ahead of the game plan. She is able to maintain an open and professional dialogue between the wedding party, the caterers, and all the parties involved in this special, yet sometimes stressful day. Meghan acts as a facilitator, communicator and problem solver and she does it all it a calm and fully under control manner.

Through every neurotic phone call or e-mail that I sent, I always got a quick response and an even better answer.  My biggest recommendation to all my friends who are getting married is to hire a wedding planner!  Not having to stress yourself or your family about decorations or corralling guests on your most special day is worth its weight in gold!  Trust me, you will not be disappointed to have Meghan in your corner!

Our family and friends had the most wonderful and memorable wedding weekend, thanks a great deal to our fabulous wedding planner, Meghan Canning.

My daughter, Ashley, along with her fiancé, Steve, were living in Ottawa and planning their wedding here, in Halifax.  We met with Meghan early in the process and from that point on, we were confident that everything that we wanted for the wedding week was going to come to fruition.  Meghan had the experience and expertise to handle anything we dreamed.  She was a liaison with the bride as well as myself and her confidence and competence were beyond compare.

Meghan assisted us in the planning of a large, pre-wedding gathering of friends and family, as well as a post-wedding BBQ at our home.  She handled all the venue details for not only the wedding but also all of the other events.  Catering, decorating, staffing…you name it, Meghan had it under control.

Meghan’s ideas were fresh and imaginative. She intuitively was able to understand our conceptual ideas, and make them a reality.

Meghan’s abilities are stellar, and they are matched only by her sparkling personality.  Her smile and her reassurance, as well as her attention to detail, allowed us to have a truly special time with all of our family and friends.
